Written Scheme of Investigation
A written scheme of investigation (WSI) is the document that details the archaeological field work that we will carry out on your behalf. Once our WSI has been approved by the Planning Archaeologist on behalf of the Planning Authority the archaeological work can commence.
Unexpected planning condition?
If you are new to encountering archaeology within the planning process we are always happy to guide you through it.
This is written by the Planning Archaeologist or Historic Environment Professional on behalf of the planning authority. It contains the rationale for requiring archaeological work and will usually outline the scope of works required. The sooner you request a brief the sooner you can make a start.
You may find it advantageous to commission us to negotiate a scheme with the relevant Planning Archaeologist on your behalf.
