Stone Age to Iron Age
Market Hall Museum
Monday 14th October 10am -12noon
Discover Stone Age to Iron Age at Market Hall Museum as part of our Home Educator Days. Learn how historians and archaeologists unearth this ancient history, discover how rubbish is crucial to uncovering the past, and create your own archaeological recording sheet. See the tools and instruments that were used, have a go at making your own pieces of Bronze Age pottery, and discover the evolving diet of pre-historic man. Spaces are limited and must be booked in advance. £10 per child. Under 5’s free. Accompanying adults and under 5’s do not need to book a ticket. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Cafe open for drinks and cakes.
St John’s House Museum
Monday 9th December
Discover Victorian Christmas at St Johns House Museum as part of our Home Educator Days. Meet our Victorian school ma’am Miss Roache, and have an immersive experience of lessons as they were in 1888 in our Victorian classroom. Learn how the Victorians made Christmas pudding with Mrs Danvers the cook, and make your own. Create Victorian Christmas crafts, including the classic Victorian favourites thaumatropes and cornucopias, this activity will also be available as a take-away craft pack.
Spaces are limited and must be booked in advance. £12 per child. Under 5’s free. Accompanying adults and under 5’s do not need to book a ticket.
