If you are looking to keep the kids busy this summer take a look at our holiday events. Drop in every week to Market Hall Museum and discover everything from bees to our very own Warwickshire dinosaur. Bone Hunter!

Market Hall Museum – Thursday 27th July 10 am to 3 pm

Have a dig to find some genuine archaeological bones. Find out how bones can tell you all about what was on people’s plates hundreds and thousands of years ago and try out your ice pick skills. Cost: £2.50 per child, no need to book just drop in. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Fabulous Tropical Butterflies

Market Hall Museum – Thursday 3rd August 10 am to 3 pm

Be dazzled by the fabulous tropical butterflies from our collections and then have a go making one of your own. Cost: £2.50 per child, no need to book just drop in. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

 

Billionaire Boy – Heartbreak Productions – SOLD OUT!

St John’s Museum

Be a part of the fun this summer at Heartbreak’s outdoor adaptation of this charming David Walliams best selling children’s book. Come to the helicopter pad outside Bumfresh towers with your picnic, your seat, and your sense of adventure to hear the story of how Mr Spud made his millions and then lost it all, and how Joe became the richest boy in the world… Tickets cost: Adult- £15, Concessions – £13, Child – £11, Family – £49 (2 adults and upto 3 children).Tickets can also be booked by calling 01926 412500 or click here to book online
This performance will take place in St John’s Museum walled garden, Picnic’s welcome. Please bring your own chair or blanket and something to protect you from potential rain. Recommended age: 7+ This is an outdoor production and will continue what ever the British summer weather brings so come dressed for the weather.

 

Arty Tots

Market Hall Museum – Tuesday 8th August 10 am to 3 pm

What’s in the treasure chest?’ Come to Market Hall and become a ‘Treasure Seeker’. Create all the things you need to look for hidden treasures. Make precious crowns, a treasure chest and binoculars. Look very closely at our museum treasures, what will you find? Cost: £2.50 per child, suitable for 5 and under, older siblings welcome. No need to book just drop in. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

 

‘Treasure 20’ Hunt

Market Hall Museum – Thursday 10th August 10 am to 3 pm

Celebrating 20 years of the Treasure Act, help us celebrate ‘Treasure 20’ by hunting for the treasures of our collections within the museum and making some to take home with you. Cost: £2.50 per child, no need to book just drop in. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

 

The Gorgeous Georgians

Market Hall Museum

Thursday 17th August 10 am to 3 pm

Dress up as a Georgian aristocrat, have a chat to one of our collections team about the costume in our galleries and have a go at making your own Georgian accessories. Cost: £2.50, no need to book just drop in. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

 

Arty Tots

Market Hall Museum – Tuesday 22nd August 10 am to 3 pm

‘The Bug Masquerade’: Come and join the ball at Market Hall and make a beautiful mask and crown. Create magical butterflies and dragonflies puppets to dance around with you. Cost: £2.50 per child, no need to book just drop in. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

 

Be a Busy Bee

Market Hall Museum – Thursday 24th August 10 am to 3 pm

Dress up as a bee and learn how to waggle dance whilst our lovely beekeeper takes you on a tour of our live observation hive, then make a bee and flower to take home with you. Cost: £2.50 per child, no need to book just drop in. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

 

Family Fossil Hunt

Thursday 24th August 10 am to 4 pm

Enjoy a day fossil hunting at Cross Hands Quarry with our Curator of Natural Sciences, Jon Radley, and explore our Jurassic past. You can keep anything you find! Meet at St John’s Museum at 10.00am, coach travel is included in the cost. Bring a packed lunch. Cost: £15.00 per person, children must be accomapnied by a paying adult. Advised for ages 7+. Meet the Warwickshire Dinosaur
