Our current project – Warwick Healey Motor Company
The name Donald Healey is synonymous with the design of high performance sports cars. The company was founded in 1945 and based in the county town of Warwick. Warwickshire County Record Office is now raising funds to purchase, catalogue and restore this important local collection.
We have an ongoing project to tackle the backlog of uncatalogued material we hold. We close our office to the public for the first full week of each month, to allow staff to focus on cataloguing and other tasks to help make our collections more accessible to researchers in our searchroom and online.
Our previous projects continue to provide tools and resources for a better understanding of our collections. Please see below for more information.
Boaters & Bright Sparks
This project has now catalogued the records of Rugby engineering company Willans & Robinson and successors. The firm was an innovator in building engines and turbines for electricity generation in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Willes of Newbold Comyn Collection
The collection has now been fully catalogued and the catalogue is available to view in hard-copy in the public searchroom at the County Record Office and also online at Warwickshire’s Past Unlocked
Outside the Box – Waller of Woodcote Collection
The Outside the Box project was created in order to coordinate the purchase, care and use of the Waller of Woodcote collection and ran until the end of December 2009.
