Victorians at St Johns – Mob Caps to Top Hats
St Johns House Museum, Warwick
This workshop is usually booked alongside other Victorian’s at St Johns workshops as part of a whole day’s programme of activity. We can accommodate groups of 90 at St Johns House Museum. If your group is larger please call to discuss.
Find out about the clothes worn by Victorian adults and children in this hands on workshop using real and replica Victorian clothing. Investigate Victorian clothes; how they were made and what they were made from? Guess how many layers of clothes a Victorian lady wore and do you think you could climb a tree in a corset? How is this different to the clothes you wear today? Using replica costume, the class can try on, learn about the differences between the clothes of the rich and poor.
