Voting is open in all Tesco stores in May and June at Warwick, Leamington and Lillington so please vote for us.
Tesco teamed up with Groundwork to launch its community funding scheme, which sees grants of £4,000, £2,000 and £1,000 awarded to local community projects.
Three groups in every Tesco region have been shortlisted to receive the cash award and shoppers are being invited to head along to Tesco stores to vote for who they think should take away the top grant.
Recollections Dementia Café is one of the groups on the shortlist.
ReCollections sessions take place once a month when Market Hall Museum is closed to the general public. Participants can relax in a calm environment and take part in tailored artist-led activities, museum tours and object handling alongside games and refreshments. The sessions are inspired by the seasons or Warwickshire heritage and have included: planting spring bulbs; playing vintage toys and games; learning about the Warwick Mop Fair and eating popcorn; churning ice-cream by hand; and making Christmas puddings to a traditional recipe.
Current attendees have said: “It was good to see the collection and jog memories and to have such a lovely building used for such an event” “It’s brilliant, really innovative…to see her participate when I didn’t think she would” “We always come away feeling positive”.
Recollections runs every 2nd Monday of the month at Market Hall Museum click here for details.
