Workshop outline

This exciting story world adventure takes the children into the past where they must help Hussain, assistant to the famous archaeologist Howard Carter, prepare for an archaeology dig at an Ancient Egyptian tomb.  They will: plan a journey using an ancient map of Egypt, practice hieroglyphs, barter in an Egyptians marketplace for provisions, find out about Egyptian beliefs about the afterlife, explore original and replica artefacts, design a cartouche on papyrus and create an artefact out of air drying clay to take home.

This workshop requires the use of a hall or similar large space for the morning.  Afternoon activities can take place in the classroom.
