This workshop is usually booked alongside other Victorian’s at St Johns workshops as part of a whole day’s programme of activity. We can accommodate groups of 90 at St Johns House Museum. If your group is larger please call to discuss.

Workshop outline

Compare the lives of working class and wealthy Victorian families using our model houses. Discover how these homes were lit and how people kept clean.

Examine the differences between Victorian domestic life and life in our homes today, using original Victorian objects.

Children will play the roles of different members of the household and the workshop includes the chance to try on some replica Victorian clothing.
