Show and Tell: Warwick Suffragettes

During this talk will focus on the Warwick women who fought not just for the right to vote but to be seen as useful contributors to society; Independent people not solely defined by their gender.

Women like Westward Heath born Cicely Lucas, whose strong principles ultimately won admiration and respect.

Whilst suffrage is seen largely as a middle class enterprise we will explore the archives for “working women” who took great risks to participate in the movement.
