Natural History collections

Herbaria

The natural history collections consist of roughly 80,000 specimens, founded upon the historic nineteenth century collections of the Warwickshire Natural History and Archaeological Society. Our herbarium is a comprehensive record of Warwickshire plants and environmental change, spanning nearly two hundred years.

Our zoology collection includes taxidermy, bird and mammal skeletons, and small spirit and entomology collections. Amongst the taxidermy, our local Spicer collection represents the skilled work of several generations of the Spicer family of Warwick and Leamington Spa. It is highly significant, in both historic and zoological terms.
