Work experience

Heritage and Culture Warwickshire’s Work Experience Programme has been on hold since 2020 due to COVID-19.

Starting in 2022 Heritage and Culture Warwickshire aims to offer four unpaid work experience placements a year. These work experience placements are carried out in person across our sites in Warwick including St Johns House, Market Hall Museum, Museum Collections Centre and Warwick County Record Office. The placements are for one week and will offer individuals the opportunity to work with staff across different departments including Learning & Engagement, Marketing & Communications, Visitor Services, Collections & Exhibitions and Record Office and Archive Services, with the aim of providing individuals the opportunity to learn new skills and knowledge of the heritage sector.

We aim to offer two placements in the Summer term (typically June or July) and two placements during the Autumn term (typically October or November).

Please note we do receive a high volume of applications and are unfortunately unable to provide placements for everyone.

However, we strive to be flexible and offer additional placements where possible.

To register your interest please contact the Volunteer Coordinator at heritagevolunteering@warwickshire.gov.uk or telephone 01926 413406
