Workshop outline

A mixed collection of documents is available to be examined covering the themes of the role of women in World War One, conditions on the Front, life back home and commemorating the fallen. 

See documents highlighting the role of the Red Cross, the enlisting of men and horses and the cases of conscientious objectors. Read postcards and letters sent home from the Front, as well as documents highlighting the effects on the Home Front. On the theme of peace and remembrance, see documents giving us a glimpse into the lives of injured and disabled soldiers after they were discharged.
