Collecting Covid: Museum and Record Office Project
We continue to live through historic times. Here at Heritage & Culture Warwickshire, we are still committed to capturing the experiences of people living in Warwickshire during the Covid-19 pandemic, once it is safe to do so.
We acknowledge that the pandemic is far from over and that this will be a long-term project. Market Hall Museum and the County Records Office have now re-opened for limited, pre-bookable visits via our website: https://heritage.warwickshire.gov.uk/about-the-museum-service/market-hall-planning-your-visit. However, due to the restrictions caused by the Covid-19 virus, we will not be able to accept any items into the museum yet. It will also be some time before we are able to bring people together for this project.
In the meantime, we would love to hear from you:
• What things do you think we should collect?
• Are there any particular stories, groups or people you think are important?
• Do you have an item that encapsulates your experience of Warwickshire during Covid-19?
Please get in touch via email to museum@warwickshire.gov.uk and put Collecting Covid in the subject line. If you wish to offer an item, please include an image and how it tells a story of Warwickshire during Covid-19. All your responses will be collated and reviewed by our project team. Once we are able to do so safely, we will take items in and work together with Warwickshire residents to reflect and document their experiences.
