Workshop outline |
Using hands on activities explore ancient Egypt through role play, original objects and making things. Pupils can investigate and record evidence using original Ancient Egyptian objects from an Ancient Egyptian tomb. Learn about the mummification process and turn your teacher into a mummy. Using drama explore hieroglyphs by making shapes with your body and mime the jobs performed by shabti in the afterlife. The bartering game will teach you how the Ancient Egyptians used objects to buy what they needed for everyday life. Try writing using reed pens and ink to make your own royal cartouche and amulet. The school hall will be needed for two hours in the morning and one classroom will be needed in the afternoon. |
